The premises
Our isolated hamlet, which includes just two families, is situated on a south-facing slope surrounded by fields and meadows, vegetable and flower gardens, forests, and wilderness.
A genuine haven of peace that will charm all those in search of rest, tranquility and inspiration.
Our guesthouses benefit from distinct entries, and are offered as « bed & breakfast », with a possibility of dinner at the house, or as independent apartments.
- The first floor includes three bedrooms, each with a double or single bed, a living room, a glassed veranda, a kitchenette, and a shared shower and washbasin quarters.
- The second floor, entails two large rooms, the barn and the atelier, with separate entries and private bathrooms
- Aside from the house, hidden under the trees, a tiny fully equipped house can also be rented.
Environment
« The Gachets » is situated at 800 meters in the rolling hills of the Trièves, at the foot of the imposing Obiou mountain.
The closest village is Cordéac (Chatel en Trièves), at 6 km, while Mens, with its shops and bar-restaurants, is a 20-minutes drive.
Horseback-riding, hiking, mountain biking and cycling are among the many activities possible in the Trièves, where tourism and unspoiled nature seem perfectly compatible.
Between the Dévoluy and Vercors ranges – from the high mountain pasture of the Chatel to the alpinists’ Mont Aiguille – are a multitude of attractions including, just nearby, an enchanting old trail that meanders a stone-paved brook, the mysterious « Gillardes » springs with its lakes and waterfalls, small farms and villages, the European ecology center « Terre Vivante » …
On the heights of the village, the Domaine des Hautes Glaces invites you to visit and taste its organic whiskey.
Within the walls
Passed the veranda, you will find 3 rooms on the first floor, equipped with either a double bed (East room), two single beds (North room) or with a small double bed and a single bed (South room).

Barn
Upstairs from the apartment, and at your private disposition, a magnificent 70 m2 atelier with wood flooring, stone walls and a high ceiling.
The atelier windows, which face east and north, give a splendid view of the Beaumont hills and the Parc des Ecrins.
Perfect for taï-chï, yoga, dance, song, music, workshops, seminars.

Atelier
This large luminous room is composed of a double bed, a small mezzanine, and a complete bathroom.
With a separate entry, the comfort of the atelier, with its large windows and its wood-burning stove, would delight those in search of a rest from the world.
Under the trees
Steps away in the garden, the tiny house is sheltered by the leaves, covered by plum blossoms in spring and in the shade of branches during summer.
Facing the mounts, and nested between the trees, this fully equipped tiny house offers an intimate space, where you may bath under the stars, and have dinner in the last ray of sunshine.
- Inside, the tiny house is equipped with a kitchenette (refrigerator, sink, kettles), a shower cabin, a king-sized bed, a small living room with a home cinema.
- Outside, you’ll find an outside shower, dry toilets, an outdoor kitchen (a grill, and a cooker), and a large terrace.
Table d’hôtes
The vegetable garden is very close, Italy is not far.
The sour-dough bread, the pasta, the marmalades and jellies, the sorbets are all home-made as well.
Our kitchen is based on organic and local foods. The menus are inspired by the garden and products of the neighboring farmers and breeders.
Our guests – and the season – will orient the choice and preparation of our meals.
Data sheet
We restored the farm with sober and timeless materials: wood, stone, iron, natural pigments, coatings and tadelakt, hemp, clay and natural stone.
The rooms are heated by stoves, with wood pellets or logs, and hot water by the sun.

We are open all year round for stays of a minimum of two nights. During holidays and public holidays we favor longer stays.
